Home Remedies to Cure Toenail Fungus Fast

Fungus infections affecting the toenails and hands are known in medical terms as Onychomycosis, a condition that can cause discoloration, peeling, and weakening of the nails.

Mycosis on the nails is more common in the feet than in the hands, because shoes, socks or exposure to hot and humid places favors their proliferation.

However, regardless of the part of the affected body, this condition is quite uncomfortable and can bring about cosmetic problems due to the symptoms it produces, and the way it weakens the nails.

To avoid the proliferation of fungi it is very important to keep the areas dry and clean, since the humidity is conducive to its emergence and development.

The treatment to cure fungal nail infection can be somewhat annoying and almost always requires a certain period of time to be really effective. Are you suffering from this type of infection? Be sure to consider some of the following home remedies.

Apple vinegar
The acid contained in apple cider vinegar is an active compound that helps eradicate fungi on both the nails of the hands and feet.

Its alkaline properties regulate the pH of the skin, changing the conditions that the fungi need to propagate.

How to use it?
Prepare equal parts of apple cider vinegar with water and keep your hands or feet submerged in the solution for 15 to 20 minutes.
After the treatment, dry the treated areas very well and apply a moisturizing cream.

This famous ingredient has an important antibiotic and antimicrobial action, which favors the elimination of bad skin and fungi to prevent and treat infections.

How to use it?
Knead 10 cloves of garlic until a paste forms. Put it in a container with warm water, let stand for a few minutes, and then keep the affected areas submerged for 15 minutes in the water.
Another good option is to mix the garlic paste with olive oil and apply directly on the nails with fungi, letting act for 30 minutes.

Natural Yogurt
The cultivation of active bacteria, also known as probiotics, has a very effective action in the treatment of fungal nail infections.

How to use it?
Take some natural yogurt, apply it directly on the affected nails and wait for it to dry before removing with cold water.
In addition, it is worth incorporating this food into your diet, both morning and evening, to potentiate the effects.

Topical use of melaleuca oil at a concentration of 10% could be as effective as tolnaftate (Anti-fungal) creams to relieve athlete’s foot or ringworm.

At concentrations ranging from 25% to 50%, it could be enough to alleviate and cure the infection.

If we apply pure (100%) melaleuca oil twice a day, it will help improve the appearance of fungal nails by up to 56% after 3 months, and up to 60% after 6 months.
